Author : Sandy MorrisNEWS FLASH An American Dream Travesty 8,400 American Families Losing Their Homes Each And Every Weekday And Congress Goes On Recess?

An “American Dream Travesty” is happening and Congress is allowing 8 THOUSAND 4 HUNDRED American Families to lose their homes each and every weekday? One might think, as a Human with ANY kind of principles, morals, ethics, conscious and common decency not to mention elected to office and having sworn an oath to “Represent The People” Congress would not voluntarily go on RECESS?

Surely Congress must realize that this American Dream Travesty has affected every American whether or not they own the American Dream their own home Even a dumb disabled Vietnam Veteran with just ONE eye can see that

Wasn’t it this time last year that the Federal Reserve Chairman and The Secretary of the Treasury made comments that this was a contained and temporary MINOR Sub-prime problem? Congress must know by NOW that this problem is definitely not MINOR, contained and temporary, so why is Congress on RECESS? Doesn’t Congress know by NOW that this MINOR problem is deeply affecting every American and American Family?

As one very intelligent Congressional Representative (yes, there are a few) and previous Presidential Candidate put it, “You can’t lower interest rates to fix all the problems” The lowering of interest rates did work back in the dot bomb and 9/11 days because banks and lending institutions had money plus they were more than willing to lend which did spur the economy Today, banks do not have money and are not very willing to lend

Ask any soccer Mom and they will tell Congress that the American Dream Travesty along with lowering of interest rates has created total chaos in buying soccer shoes, soccer balls, gasoline for the soccer van and you might as well forget about mentioning pizza for the soccer team sorry forgot milk and bread Even a dumb disabled Vietnam Veteran with just ONE eye can see that Gee, why is Congress on RECESS and not trying real hard to help soccer Moms, especially the soccer Moms displaced, having to move somewhere unknown and join a new soccer team?

Does Congress still think, after 18 months or so, that this American Dream Travesty is MINOR, contained and temporary? There must be another motive for Congress to just get up, turn off the lights and go on RECESS Surely Congress didn’t think that one $600 stimulus check would fix the American Dream Travesty with mortgage payments going up that amount for each and every month Congress knows the American Dream Travesty has cost ALL Americans, property owners or not, more than $600 over the past 18 months or so The greater question is - What is the American Dream Travesty going to cost ALL Americans over the next 18 months? One might begin to think that Power, Profit and Greed were somehow in the picture

Americans do understand that Congress receives excellent health care, only affordable to the Rich and Famous, a very reasonable salary along with a pension unavailable to any other American Americans don’t understand the complex nature of PAC and Special Interest Money on top of all the Perks that no one really sees Americans don’t understand why some ‘Convicted Congressional People’ receive up to $120,000 per year pension from the American Taxpayer as reported by CNN recently

Holy Cow, if Congress has all of that given to them on a Silver Platter by the American Taxpayer, why is Congress allowing 8 THOUSAND 4 HUNDRED American Families each and every weekday lose their homes, affecting ALL Americans and American Taxpayers? Think about it - that is approximately 26 Thousand men, women and CHILDREN each and every weekday, not counting their relatives, friends, neighbors, co-workers and classmates every American With the exceptional benefits unavailable to average Americans, and the basic elementary knowledge of the American Dream Travesty why is Congress on RECESS?

Power, Profit and Greed must somehow be in the picture or Congress would not be on RECESS Makes one think that their main interest is in Wall Street and Big Business and NOT the people they represent or elected them to office Congress must think they can fool most of the people most of the time but they must also know you can’t fool all of the people all of the time Even a dumb disabled Vietnam Veteran knows that This was evident, this time last year, when Congress and the sophisticated financial/business media blamed the minor sub-prime problems on undeserving home owners and unethical mortgage people They conveniently forgot to mention that historically there have always been unethical individuals resulting in most states having banking commissions to regulate discrimination, fraud and scams For the rest of the story please visit: http://boomersmagic.com/wise-guy/news-flash-an-american-dream-travesty-8400-american-families-losing-their-homes-each-and-every-weekday-and-congress-goes-on-recess

Author : Computer ManWhen The Tennessee Mountain Man was a child in a small country school, it was a big deal when an old man arrived in a big rusty station wagon with a load of noisy show dogs even though it cost a dime to get you out of class for that hour

Then there was the occasional cowboy who was an expert with his six shooter, throwing knives, and bull whip His pretty half dressed assistant would stand with a cigarette in her mouth and he would light it from a respectable distance with a quick draw and shot from his trusty revolver He would then retrieve his bull whip and from half away across the basketball court he would put the cigarette out or cut it in half with one quick snap and pop of the whip The assistant would then dutifully step on the cancer stick to extinguish the fire

Thereafter the young lady, who other than getting out of class was the only reason the boys spent a whole quarter to see the show, would be tied to a big wheel and the cowboy would follow the outline of her body as he threw knives at her This was usually followed by a pony or horse who could ostensibly count and answer yes and no questions

Occasionally there would be a movie shown on a big screen temporarily set up on the stage in the school auditorium for the nominal fee of a nickel or a dime And, since few if any students had TVs or access to theaters back then, we all paid our dues and watched in rapt attention for a couple of hours

But, the big draw for the boys were the magicians who came performing Few girls, for whatever reason, attended these sessions but boys were happy to pay a whopping fifty cents to watch these men and their assistants ply their trade for an hour or so After which all the boys were trying to emulate the slight of hand artist for weeks

Computer Man was lucky to grow up in a time when everything was new Electricity distributed by newly formed farmer’s co-ops in Appalachia was new to most and on the horizon for the rest to be eventually followed by party line telephone systems A boy scout trip to a hydro dam was a big deal A day ogling over Doctor Warner Van Braun’s accomplishments (at least those the young men in snappy spit and polished uniforms would allow you to see) at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama really drove the
imagination

It all seemed a bit of big magic back then We grew up studying slight of hand so when we became adults we should have been well prepared when professional politicians learned the trade and applied it with a slight if dangerous twist to the shady world of politics

Momma always said, “still waters run deep” Dad always said, “it is the quiet ones you have to watch” They also agreed that most people were practicing deceit, magic, in one form or another It has been our experience that you dare not lose site of Shakespeare’s
Hamlet Act 3, Scene 2:

Player Queen:
Both here and hence pursue me lasting strife,
If once I be a widow, ever I be a wife!

Player King:
‘Tis deeply sworn Sweet, leave me here a while,
My spirits grow dull, and fain I would beguile
The tedious day with sleep

Player Queen:
Sleep rock thy brain,
And never come mischance between us twain!

Hamlet:
Madam, how like you this play?

Queen:
The lady doth protest too much, me thinks

Companies which protest the loudest that they are not going anywhere have just joined the NAFTA community Corporate Moguls assuring employees that their jobs are safe are either in the process of selling, shutting down, moving off shore, or scaling back

And politicians, legislatures, judges, prosecutors and other elite found their own means by which to endanger our way of life Can you say Richard Nixon, Bill Clinton, Elliot Spitzer, or Jim McGreevey? How about George Bush, Chaney, or John Ashcroft? Each trying to keep us watching the their right hand while doing their own dirt with their left Some committed perjury and some sanctioned cover ups and perverted justice while others used fear to steal and curtail the rights and privacy of United States Citizens

In 1787, shortly after the close of the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, a woman interested in the proceedings approached Benjamin Franklin “Well, doctor,” she asked, “what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” The venerable champion of American liberty replied, “A republic, Madame, if you can keep it ” The question two hundred and twenty-one years later is, “can we?”

The people of the former USSR were safe except from the corrupt state, but they had no freedom The people of China are safe except from the state, but they are not free The Bush administration has tried to keep our fear from the 9-11 attacks elevated and distract us with complaints and concerns that Vladimir Putin is slowly sweeping away the freedoms of the Russian people while his administration was doing as much at home

Let us not forget the admonition of Benjamin Franklin (also cited to Thomas Jefferson) “people willing to trade their freedom for temporary security deserve neither and will lose both”

Slight of hand is practiced by Politicians, Lawyers, Judges, Bankers and Corporate Moguls, scoundrels all, at the expense of the rest of us Today it cost more (much more) than the four bits we paid as children and is much more sinister than so called “black magic” It has much deeper and longer lasting negative effects for those who wish to maintain the Republic we love “These capitalists”, said Abraham Lincoln, “generally act harmoniously and in concert, to fleece the people”

We fear America is in danger of being destroyed from within Not by some disenfranchised group, but by the very ones who have benefited the most from her opportunities and bounties They travel the world of twenty-four hour cable shows explaining why the common man can not be trusted and must be kept under thumb They must be right because we keep voting against our own interest and keeping them empowered when we manage to overcome our complacency enough to participate at all

Lincoln further observed, “America will never be destroyed from the outside If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves” And, again, he opined, “We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution”

The pendulum must swing sans the same old scoundrels from the court house to the state house to the White House

Author : Adolfo Rosado44 years ago, President John F Kennedy was murdered in a classic coup by the American military industrial complex in order to perpetrate the Viet Nam war onto the American and the Vietnamese people

Ever since, people have been trying to stake a claim on the legacy of President Kennedy Remember his own fellow Republicans chastised Dan Quayle who tried to compare himself to him Remember the famous Quote by Lloyd Bentsen “I knew Jack Kennedy Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine Senator, you’re no Jack Kennedy ”

Well in case you haven’t been paying attention, the Kennedys have given Senator Barack Obama an unprecedented political gift with a strange baggage attachment
Their absolute endorsement of Senator Obama comes with all the shadowy overtones of Camelot

The pluses:
Last Century’s “Brief Shining Moment” for America, “The New Frontier”, “The postwar promise” and a young American President with wide appeal among youths inspired this country In southern black households there were three icons at the mantel: Jesus Christ, Martin Luther King and John F Kennedy The Apollo missions to the Moon, The Peace Corps PT-109, Beautiful Wife Jacqueline, those were wonderful times full of hope

The minuses:
The Bay of Pigs, Military Advisers in Viet Nam, Marilyn Monroe, Back pain pills, Deals with southern racists and shadowy election results in Illinois

However:
In retrospect, those who remember those days can’t help but yearn for the passion and the hope they felt back then Caroline Kennedy said to a crowd of students at American University: “Over the years, I’ve been deeply moved by the people who’ve told me they wish they could feel inspired and hopeful about America the way people did when my father was president”
She continued: “This longing is even more profound today Fortunately, there is one candidate who offers that same sense of hope and inspiration, and I am proud to endorse Senator Barack Obama for president ”
Most Americans are really tired of the failures and trespasses of the current Bush Administration from the illegal pre-emptive war to domestic spying and torture

Caroline Kennedy who has access to millions of dollars and works helping New York Public Schools, is the same little girl with gloved hands and a short dress, who followed her father’s coffin holding her mother’s hand She does not have to concern herself with Pig Bays or back pills Her father’s legacy is very real to her and who here has the right to tell her she’s wrong

Senator Ted Kennedy said at a Barack Obama rally in Washington DC: “Each of us can make a difference and all of us ought to try ” Senator Obama then proceeded to voice a rousing speech in the Kennedy style to the hopeful and the faithful members of the Democratic Party

It’s just Politics, but politics of hope, not of division, not of war

Personally, my opinion on this primary campaign, I’m a bit undecided Being a solid democrat, and remembering the prosperity and good times of the 1990’s, I was naturally inclined to support Hillary Clinton However, after I listened to Obama’s speeches and listened to his campaign message, I’m inclined to allow myself to hope for a deeper change I’ve also noticed the negativity and ruthlessness the Clinton campaign seems to be dishing out But in the end I am sure that any Democratic candidate would be a vast improvement over the ineptitude of our current “President” I put it in quotes because I’m a firm believer that the 2000 elections were blatantly stolen

If you’re thinking I may be crazy, watch a congressional hearing of the fellow who wrote the voting machine computer code that gave Bush the close election in Florida Just click on the link below to view it, I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to start civil disobedience Key to how Bush won against Gore and Kerry
