Author : Brad MorganYou have a great idea for a website and you are ready to get it out of your head and online where everyone can see it You have everything planned, from your color scheme to your website’s name: nothing has been left to chance The only problem, however, is that you don’t know how to get your website out of your head (or off of your computer) and onto the internet

For this you need a great web host Web hosts are businesses that focus on providing you with space on one of their servers, allowing your website to get from your computer onto the internet

If you do not hire a web hosting company, you will find that the only way to get your internet website online is to buy a server Servers are extremely expensive, and for many websites, they’re just out of the question in terms of the budget Not only that, they require having a qualified technician available to set them up and maintain them

Rather than purchasing your own server, you can look to web hosting as the answer that you need Once you start searching for a web hosting company, however, you will find that there are hundreds to thousands of different web hosting companies available to choose from How to you select one perfect company out of the masses?

The first thing that you should learn about choosing the right web hosting company is that price is very important It is ideal if you can figure out how much you can afford before you start looking around

Say you choose a web hosting company that is more expensive than you can afford Then you may find yourself having to take down the website that you have worked so diligently on due to negative cash flow

At the same time, though, it is also important to not hire the least expensive web hosting company as well One good way to look at it is as you would if you were buying a used car If you choose the least expensive car on the lot, you will wind up spending a great deal of money to fix it up If, instead, you choose to buy one that is a bit more expensive, but still affordable, you might just be able to drive that vehicle off the lot Selecting a web hosting company is very much like choosing the perfect car for you Remember: if you go to the cheap company, you get cheap service This means that you will wind up having a lot of frustration due to technicians who are unable to help you when you need it

If you get better service, especially if you’re just getting started in the world of websites, you will find that having great customer service is the key to not getting extremely frustrated and annoyed at your web hosting company A good company will be able to answer the questions that you have and will make it very easy to get your website online in no time

So make sure that you look for a web hosting company that you can afford and that has great customer service If you’ve got that wrapped up, you’ll have your website online in no time For great web hosting advice, visit this web hosting information site and learn more, like what would be needed to build a site like this reverse phone number lookup website.

Author : Nick MakarykA lot of bloggers have had difficulties with affiliate products before They find what seems like the perfect product to promote and there seems to be a lot of traffic coming in but no sales! It can be incredibly frustrating, especially if you have put a lot of work into promoting these products To keep this from happening to you, you have to choose your affiliate products carefully from the word go

It can seem like it is nearly impossible to tell which products will perform the best for you However, thanks to some free and easy to use tools, it is actually pretty simple to determine which affiliate products will be profitable for you

You will need to start by doing some market research You need to find out where your niche market spends their time online There are probably message boards and forums dedicated to your niche topics these are excellent places to visit You will be able to get a sense of what your target market would likely want to purchase

There are niche markets which will respond well to digital products, while others are more suited to physical ones By doing market research, you will find out which will do the best with your niche market

You should also have a look at what your competition is up to Look carefully at other blogs which are in your niche and see what affiliate products they promote and more importantly, how they are promoting them If they are doing well meaning highly ranked for their keywords, then they have also most likely done some solid market research Use what you learn this way to make your own site more profitable but keep your products targeted to your niche market otherwise, you will make few, if any sales

Once you know what sort of affiliate product will appeal to your niche, then the next step is to find a specific product Affiliate networks are a good place to look most of these networks provide some information on how well the product is actually selling Be sure to look at how well it is selling at present as well as its past performance Of course, as they say in the auto industry, your mileage may vary, so think of these figures as a guideline

When you see a product that looks like a winner, have a look at the website or the sales page for this product

The site should feature

Well written, compelling copy
Verification logos, company logos and seals of approval from the BBB, etc
A phone number and other contact information do not trust a company which gives no phone number
Few if any distractions this increases conversions

The site or sales page which your affiliate link points to can make all of the difference in the world While you can get people interested in the product, a poorly designed sale page can easily be a deal breaker

And of course, you need to hold up your end by pre selling the product well Feature the product’s ad banner on your site; write about the product and so on It is well worth your time to learn a little about copywriting in order to a better job of pre selling

Once you have done all of this, you wll find your blog bringing a lot more affiliate income Nick Makaryk is an Internet Publisher, Copywriter, and Founder ‘How To Blog’. Author : Kristi AmbroseWhen it comes to a website, it is the outer shell of your being I don’t think any company or individual that is considered a “business person” online should be without a good website And not one of those home made ones either When people see your site for the first time, you want them to see you as a person If the site is put together messy or it looks sloppy and cheap - that is what people are going to think about you I don’t know about how you feel - but I wouldn’t ever want to put anything like that out on the next with my name attached to it! Some people are under the impression that website design can be incredibly expensive but this just isn’t the case In my best opinion I would love to say that all designers are created equal But they are not I worked with someone a few years ago that really wasn’t a nice “fit” for me and his portfolio proved that even more So I decided not to work with him

Recently I found another website designer and we worked everything out perfectly and I loved her portfolio Think of a designer as a business relationship of sorts Of course you don’t need to be best friends with this person but you should get along well, they should listen to your concerns and you should be able to listen to their suggestions NJ Website design can be a hard thing to get into as a customer - there are so many designers out there How do you pick the right one? Well first it’s a good idea to look at their website They are designers after all! So if they don’t have a nice design, chances are they won’t give you a nice design Second thing I would suggest is to look at their portfolio Web designers are like artists - they all paint a different picture Some are Warhol’s while others are Picasso’s Just be sure you like and know the style that the web designer has! Third thing I would suggest you look at are the packages and the prices

Most web designers will have a few different packages, but they also should have an option for a quote which will allow you to tell them what you want and they will set up a price for you Personally I like the quote option the most because there are also things I either do or don’t want in the set packages they have Don’t be shy That’s what they are there for - to answer questions and concerns you have Another thing you might want to do is ask if they have a payment plan of some sort Most designers out there will work with you on a plan usually in three thirds or two halves Either way it’s a good idea to ask beforehand - unless you are able to put down the full price ahead of time! Second to last option you should check out for is services FOR your website business - SEO and such

Most designers will place some sort of a small SEO option on your site (tags and the like) while others will go a step further The last thing you want to make sure your designer has is a hosting option Some designers don’t have this option and you have to find your own While others do have this option and will be nice enough to set you up with a monthly plan You don’t have to do it this way - but it’s a convenient option if you don’t want to dilly dally and just want something easy to deal with! This Author is a huge fan of NJ Web Design

Author : seomul EvansHere are 3 keys to saving yourself an enormous amount of time and expense as you prepare to start your own business

1- Don’t Spend a Lot on Marketing at First This may sound like a crazy notion, but don’t spend a lot on marketing until you’re clear about your business This sounds crazy because, if you’re starting your own business, then you should know exactly what your business is about But part of starting your own business is running into brick walls and changing directions when necessary What this amounts to is the fact that your business will look very different one year out than it did on your first day So don’t spend a ridiculous amount of money on marketing until you’ve hit those brick walls and are very clear about the direction you’re heading

There are some things you can spend money on at first These things are critical items that don’t cost much money These things include business cards and brochures Try printing your own business cards on your computer instead of paying a printing company to do it for you You can also create a text logo rather than a full color graphic, at least for the first year Or you can get a starving graphic design student to create a logo for you on the cheap Rather than spending a fortune on your website, purchase a domain name and start a blog Later, when you’re clear about your vision, you will be able to work effectively with a web designer to get exactly what you want

2- Sell Quickly When you first start out, you need the shortest sales cycle possible Make sure that at least one of your products or services costs between $100 and $300 This gives prospective customers the option to check you out and see what you have to offer The risk is minimized for both of you Additionally, avoid the trend of not publishing your prices online Let potential customers know at the beginning what your products or services are going to run them When you’re ready to offer bigger-ticket items, those prices can be negotiated, but let customers know what to expect right away at the beginning

Another important thing you can do is keep track of your processes as you go along Resist the temptation to “go with the flow” as each new project comes along Every time a client asks you about a new project, you should have a clear idea about the steps it will require and the time it will take This will ensure that you can set your prices early and accurately

Finally, make sure that you have at least one product or service that you’re willing to sell for a low amount or even give away Ideally this is something you can upsell, or a product that will cause your customers to refer others to your business

3- Be Technologically Proficient It’s no surprise that fluency in technology goes a long way toward a successful business But you really can’t overestimate the importance of technological proficiency Start by taking a class in any programming language This will make it easier for you to communicate with programmers and understand the limits of available software It will also help you get over a potential fear of technology that can limit you immensely

You can also make a big difference by making small moves Update one page of your website every week instead of tackling the whole thing at one time Use electronic billing rather than waiting until you have the resources to automate your receivables and payables

You’ll find that, as your business grows, hindsight will tell you how you should have done things differently But if you follow these three steps, you’ll start out ahead of the curve and see profits more quickly Seomul Evans is a senior Search Engine Optimization consultant specializing in Meta Search Engines and SEO articles.

Author : Traci VanoverThere is no such thing as a free lunch, but there is such a thing as free promotion And believe me, in these trying economic times, free is a word that everyone should be paying attention to

Ask Yourself This Question — What Makes You Unique?
Your mother always told you there was nobody in the world like you She was right, you know Author and marketer Seth Godin takes that concept one step further in his book, Purple Cow In Purple Cow, Godin tells business owners to transform their business by being remarkable

Simply put, if you want to stand out, be the purple cow One great way to showcase your inner purple cow-ness is the free social media site known as Squidoo (which incidentally, is also the creation of Seth Godin) You can create a fully-featured webpage (called “lenses”) which showcases your unique perspective on virtually any topic you can think of

If you can think it, you can Squidoo it

Cows and Squids Are You Kidding Me?
Yes, I suppose on the surface the concept may sound a bit odd But then again, folks thought that Isaac Newton was a few fries short of a Happy Meal in his day — and we all know how that turned out

Squidoo is a hand-built collection of nearly 900,000 web pages built by everyday folks like you and I - on topics that range from how to grow a perfect bonsai, to how to crochet a tea cozy

Squidoo Showcases the Remarkable
Squidoo offers users the perfect (and did I mention free?) platform to showcase their remarkable talents, business, hobbies, and interests

Here’s some examples to help get you started

Think about what aspects of your business or craft are unique Do you make wreaths from vines that grow on your own property? Sharing the process of how you scout out the vines in the forest, pull them down, and shape them into wreaths Include some photos, or maybe even a YouTube video of the process

What if you operate a business that has faced a great deal of overseas competition? Capitalize on the fact that you are providing a product or service that is made in the USA, and how your company is keeping jobs here in this country In these tough economic times, such factors are major selling points

Perhaps you are a genealogy buff Start a lens on your family’s history Where did they come from? If they emigrated to the US, what was their motivation? What types of obstacles did they encounter as they began to create a new life in this country?

Maybe you sell holiday ornaments, and your business takes a bit of a dive after the first of the year Your Squidoo lens can help drive traffic to your main website by offering information on Christmas around the world, little-known customs, share stories of “the worst holiday gift,” and more

Making Money With Squidoo
Squidoo offers you a very real opportunity to drive targeted traffic to your website, blog, eBay listings, or etsy shop In addition to those direct earning opportunities, you can also integrate third-party affiliate links from programs you may already be involved in Finally, by incorporating any of the multitude of modules offered by Squidoo, you can earn from products offered within the listings at eBay and Amazon

A Word of Caution
Not everyone on Squidoo has caught on to the importance of showcasing what makes them remarkable, which is all the better for you While your first instinct may be to throw up a quick page and wait for the tsunami of traffic, I urge you to resist the urge First of all, you’ll wind up sorely disappointed Second of all, you’ll shoot your credibility as a lensmaster Instead, consider browsing the site a bit, and get a feel for the type of content you see on other people’s lenses Then, check out their ranking

I can guarantee you that there is a correlation between the lenses ranking well, and the quality of the content they showcase Focus your efforts on building content that is useful and interesting, and you’ll have yourself a winner Traci Hayner Vanover, aka The Promo Diva(R), is a freelance writer, coach and consultant specializing in small businesses and startups.
