Author : John HardingSurprising figures from a travel survey show that holidaymakers can expect to pay less on their trip than a year ago in Europe - while other popular destinations have seen a rise

The survey - produced by the Post Office's travel services - showed that the costs of what a typical tourist will buy while on holiday fell in Spain, and also in Portugal

Some areas popular with British holidaymakers saw a rise in prices, notably France, Italy and Turkey

Spain and Portugal have cut prices in an effort to win back tourists who have opted during the recession for cheaper destinations including Turkey, and given the rise in Turkish prices it might not be too long before it's no longer regarded as a budget holiday destination, unless a full board trip is booked

The twelve items the Post Office survey included across the popular holiday destinations included a family meal, suntan lotion, sun lounger hire, a bottle of beer and the price of a cup of coffee - typical items bought on a family holiday unless it was taken full board

The cheapest destination was Albufeira, on Portugal's Algarve, while Brittany in France and Sorrento in Italy came out as the most expensive

Spanish prices have dropped in the last year for tourists Perennial favourite Majorca for example was cheaper than Turkey, one of the so called cheap destinations that has seen the number of Majorca holidays drop over the last couple of years

Coupled with low cost airfares and a flight time of less than two hours from UK airports, a drift away from the island to cheaper destinations could well be reversed in 2011, and while some might want all inclusive deals where Turkey might work out cheaper for the majority of tourists who go half board or bed and breakfast, the deals that some of the hotels in Majorca will be offering will be tempting

Once on the island, how much can holidaymakers expect to pay for everyday items, compared to supposedly less expensive Turkey?

A cup of coffee will cost 1 30, while in Turkey it is typically 1 60 A beer is similar in price - 1 60 in Majorca against 1 65 but for those who prefer a soft drink to alcohol the difference is bigger, 1 35 against 2 30 - important for family holidays with young children who can get through quite a few drinks on a warm day, and given the Majorca weather that's often

Eating out can take a big chunk out of a family's holiday spending money, and Majorca's 43 24 compares well with Turkey's 70 83 - and a treat like an ice cream is also less at 1 53 against 2 31

It's not just the flights to Majorca that are cheaper and take less time than Turkey, it's everyday spending items for the typical family holiday abroad where Majorca really stands out for value Airlines who have low cost flights to Majorca for this summer are available with yourmajorca.net

They also have photographs of the island and other holiday in Majorca resources online.

<a href=\'http://www.articlesinsight.com/Art/207911/272/Welcome-News-For-2011-Majorca-Summer-Holidays.html\' rel=\'nofollow\' target=\'_blank\'>Read full story

Author : John HardingA good holiday resort is not difficult to find in Lanzarote, the easternmost island of the Canaries Playa Blanca, Puerto Del Carmen and Costa Teguise are considered the three most popular resorts on the island Each area of the island offers new and exciting things to do

The two primary accommodation types are villas and hotels Resorts are usually very busy hot spots for social activities Shopping, restaurants and bars are easily accessible Most restaurants stay open very late to accommodate those who enjoy their night life

For relaxing, beaches are not in short supply - it is an island after all Enjoy snorkelling, swimming and other water sports Many sunbathers enjoy watching others enjoy the surf while they take in the sun and incredible scenery

Nothing beats the total relaxation of a spa day Local spas cater to seasonal visitors and provide an amazing way to relax and get away from it all Sea water treatment centres are in high demand Sea water is very soothing and therapeutic with a naturally calming effect

Cafes, restaurants and bars are wonderful places to catch some shade and relaxation A cool drink helps keep the body hydrated while you enjoy the surrounding sights and sounds

Aside from waking up to the gorgeous horizon outside the window, many other locations are deserving of your attention Playa Blanca's new golf course and marina are only two of the local attractions in the southern part of Lanzarote

Timanfaya National Park is a must see Plan to spend at least a few hours and enjoy the restaurant if possible Please keep in mind that you will be treading the top of a volcano and dress accordingly It will likely be cooler than the rest of the island and rocky ground requires adequate footwear

Castillo de las Coloradas gets its name from the colourful rocks on the coastline of Playa Blanca The ruins of an historic castle that was built to help defend the island and its inhabitants from pirate attacks in the mid 1700s are just to the east of the Playa Blanca resort

One of the primary landmarks in the southern part of Lanzarote is the lighthouse, Faro de Pechiguera Built in 1986, the lighthouse is of fairly recent construction and not spectacular in itself

The walk from Playa Blanca to the lighthouse, however, is absolutely amazing The trek takes approximately half an hour, depending on pace and offers views of neighbouring islands Los Lobos and Fuerteventura

The sun's rays are well known to cause aesthetically pleasing tans as well as types of skin cancer Take proper care of your skin while visiting the Canary Islands and take sunscreen Drink a lot of fluids to prevent dehydration and take comfortable shoes

Sandals and flip-flops are preferred summer wear for most people on vacation Most people even prefer to simply go barefoot

Take more caution and be a little more practical when visiting Lanzarote and all of the natural wonders ahead Hot sand can blister, slippery rocks may cause falls, and volcanic rock may cut your feet You don't have to wear them all the time, but you definitely need proper footwear while out sightseeing to make sure your holiday is a good one Budget airlines have flights to Lanzarote which can be accessed on yourlanzarote

They also have photographs, a map and other holidays in Lanzarote resources online.

<a href=\'http://www.articlesinsight.com/Art/192024/272/Holidays-In-Lanzarote-Where-To-Stay-And-What-To-Do.html\' rel=\'nofollow\' target=\'_blank\'>Read full story

Author : Margaret JamesYou: the distinguished traveler, loaded up with your luggage and a deep desire to take a sky limo to your Northeast destination of choice You\’re ready to take a few days off and swing west of some old habits while you get a few days\’ break from your busy career

Your chief adversary: a subpar hotel The promise of spending even a night in another hotel that advertises itself to be amazing, but fouls up the online world with negative reviews and bad vibes can put a damper on the trip you\’re excited about

Your solution: go luxury Stop taking shortcuts just because they\’re convenient, and give yourself a weekend trip you deserve Looking for work? Looking for leisure? It doesn\’t matter - take control of your trip by refusing to stay in any more accommodations that list themselves as 3 to 4 stars, but end up being less than stellar in your book Book a customized air taxi adventure with Kavoo
Better yet, take the whole trip in style

Book yourself a customized air taxi adventure, and do everything you want to do on your trip Eat the food you want - from fried pickles to caviar Go get yourself a nice massage, and take a few days to see the sights or take a hike rather than stressing out about work or your everyday life

Giving yourself permission to spend even one weekend in luxury is something difficult for a lot of people Start with making a commitment to stay away from undesirable hotels Like a bad accident looming over the horizon, staying at a hotel seems to become an increasingly shady proposition as time goes on

With economy changes, below standard service and even health hazards, why stay somewhere less than ideal? Make the commitment to get where you\’re going in style, and to ride in style while you\’re there
Is your hotel a stinker? Take a look at a few warning signs:

Check the bedding With health hazards like bedbugs as a possibility, checking the mattress for a few seconds is a great idea Even if you\’re staying in a five star hotel, bed bugs are a possibility It\’s happened

Bad service You might expect your new hotel server or staff to stand patiently in your room as you fish a tip out of your wallet, but they better be doing it with a smile on their faces You don\’t deserve to have to put up with bad service-you have a career and experience your own brand of hassles, so you should expect that the person who is waiting on you should be able to do their job

Cleanliness If you\’re paying top dollar for a hotel it should be clean If toilets, carpets or other parts of the room are not clean, it is perfectly okay to call the front desk and ask for a replacement room or refund

Hey, it\’s your stay - get there in style by using a top-of-the-line air taxi or sky limo service, and make sure you are getting the accommodations you deserve before you make the flight home http://blog.flykavoo.com has tips and tricks for the savvy traveler. Fly a sky limo in style.

<a href=\'http://www.articlesinsight.com/Art/192025/272/Hotel-Savvy-58-Don-39-t-Let-The-Bedbugs-Bite.html\' rel=\'nofollow\' target=\'_blank\'>Read full story

Author : John HardingMajorca could be in for a good summer, as early indications show that the number of Britons booking a holiday for the Mediterranean island is on the increase - already villa bookings for example are up by a third compared to this time last year

The signs of more visitors this year will be welcomed by businesses reliant on the tourist trade - such as hotels, bars and restaurants - who have experienced a drop in the number of holidaymakers in the last two years due to the recession

2011 has already started well with an unusually busy time out of season, when more people visited Majorca than any other area of Spain - including the Costa del Sol - making it the country\’s top destination in September for example, with the UK and Germany providing the most number of visitors

September can be a really good month to visit the island The hotels, bars and restaurants are all still fully functioning but it\’s quieter than the peak summer months of July and August - and the Majorca weather is arguably better then as it\’s not too hot but just right for sunbathing or getting out and about

For those considering a visit for this summer, what is there to do, and where\’s a good place to stay?

Last year three Majorca hotels received awards for excellence, including the Hotel Aimia in Puerto Soller on the northwest coast Many of the Aimia\’s rooms have good harbour and Mediterranean views

Soller is gaining in popularity with couples especially, as it can be regarded as traditional A tram connects the port area with Deia, and a railway link through the countryside to the capital Palma in itself is a great day out - and a different way to get to and from the island\’s airport for Majorca flights

For the under 30\’s who enjoy their music and partying The Mallorca Rocks has an impressive 330 rooms and is located in Magaluf - a good location as Magaluf is where those looking to party in Majorca tend to head for, and is in the middle of where the younger generations tend to head for, and away from the traditional family areas like Pollensa A full programme of live music for June through to September promises to make the Rocks a popular venue for 2011 holidays

But whether it\’s a trip to the island as a couple for a romantic getaway, as a family, or among a group of friends one important element is a good beach, and Majorca comes up trumps for those who like to spend some leisure time in and around the Mediterranean

One of the best - Playa de Muro - is located in the north of the island and the closest holiday resort is Alcudia, popular with both German and British tourists From Alcudia, drive along the bay, past the S\’Albufera Natural Park, and there is a good amount of free parking available - there is also public transport that runs to the beach area from the town

And there are plenty of other good beaches with blue flag status available to enjoy during Majorca holidays - plus good restaurants, attractions and a host of things to do Or you could just let the world go by you, relax and enjoy the best island in the Mediterranean and see just why Majorca holidays were the choice of many in the late summer no matter when you decide to visit

Autumn, spring, summer it really doesn\’t matter when you visit, but if you do you might find out why Majorca is such a popular holiday island for British tourists Some good deals are available from travel companies promoting Majorca holidays for those who are considering a summer holiday on the isand.

With budget airlines providing plenty of flights, there are plenty of cheap Majorca holidays online.

Author : John HardingNovember to March is when a lot of people holiday in Lanzarote, because of the island\’s good weather - but what about the rest of the year, and for a summer holiday?

If you\’re wondering where would be good for a summer holiday Lanzarote has a lot of reasons to consider shortlisting it, and plenty of different towns and villages to choose from

The areas popular with holidaymakers are:

Playa Blanca, which is in the central area It has changed over the years from a traditional fishing village to a good family resort It\’s popular with holidaymakers who take Lanzarote villa holidays

Teguise is the former capital of Lanzarote It is a historical town with narrow streets, restored homes, hotels and resorts Teguise is more touristy, especially since it is close to the International airport It is equally popular among families, couples and the elderly

Puerto del Carmen is the oldest resort on the island It is a classic favourite among tourists It also has an active night life and a mile of shops, restaurants and bars

Arrecife has been the capital of Lazarote since 1832 It is a port town situated near the airport The people depend mainly on tourism and agriculture The views from Arrecife are amazing The Atlantic Ocean is to the east and southeast; the mountains are to the north and the rest is made up of hills and farms

Arrecife has a good mix of old and new structures It is a port city with an urban feel There are plenty of places to shop and eat The nightlife is also lively

The smallest resort area on the island is Puerto Calero Some good Lanzarote hotels are here along with privately owned apartments This is by far the quietest and most private resort on the island The harbour has become known as Millionaire\’s Harbour because of its reputation for hosting boats and yachts worth more than ten million euros The boardwalk is lined with restaurants and shops with amazing views of the harbour Attractions include a whale and dolphin museum

The wonderful climate throughout the year is conducive to a variety of sports activities, and the Lanzarote weather really does help boost the number of holidaymakers There\’s a choice of golf, diving, horseback riding, tennis and windsurfing

And it\’s not just sports but traditional holiday activities that the island is good for too The Guinate Tropical Park and Penguin Paradise near Haria for example offers a very unique array of wildlife The penguin enclosure, Penguin Paradise is a spectacle in itself The underwater viewing pool gives visitors the unique experience of seeing the behaviour of penguins while underwater It is simply amazing to see how these incredible birds behave in their natural habitat

So if you\’re currently considering a summer holiday, why not consider Lanzarote for this year?yourlanzarote is a travel resource for the island, and includes hotels in Lanzarote

Airlines who include Lanzarote flights in their schedules are on their flights page, and if you want to know what the weather they also have the Lanzarote weather

Author : John HardingMarch might mean saying goodbye to winter, but for skiers it\’s time to book that trip before it is too late, and it\’s another eight months before they can enjoy a ski holiday again

And for those considering ski holidays Andorra is a great destination, with first class slopes and an infrastructure to match

There are different areas to ski in Andorra, and they are:

Arinsal and Pal - now a single resort linked by cable car One ski pass allows skiers to venture onto either set of slopes In effect, wherever you are staying at the resort, you can ski from your backyard right onto the slopes Snowboarders will also feel quite comfortable whether they are beginners or experienced

Pas de la Casa is also close by but tends to be more crowded However, it does offer very good value if that is the major criteria in selecting a resort With its numerous cafes, restaurants, happy hours and discos, Pas de la Casa tends to attract the livelier young adult crowd Travel offers often feature the resort for cheap ski holidays, and there are regular buses to and from the capital la Vella for those who want to do some duty free shopping during their trip

Perhaps the best known resort is Soldeu It has a mix of accommodation but has the best hotel for skiers, the Sports Hermitage, and first class ski slopes An excellent mix

It\’s also perfectly possible to have a twin centre trip, with both Andorra and French ski holidays Some areas good in France include:

Nestled atop a magnificent glacier on Mt Bellecote is the world-class ski area of La Plagne Surrounded by the majestic Vanoise Massif Mountains in the Graian Alps, La Plagne resort beckons the avid skier It is spread over an altitude of 1250 to 3250 meters The result is a variety of terrains and altitudes appealing to beginners and experts alike

The resort was built in 1961 with the hope of attracting tourism dollars It was largely conceived in the interest of four small mountain villages The fledgling towns were dying and hoped to capitalize on the gorgeous natural beauty of the area Today\’s La Plagne is comprised of many different and distinctive villages All are linked to one another by ski lifts and trails for those who prefer cross-country skiing The villages continue to expand, giving it a competitive edge when it comes to tourism revenue

Even the non-skier will find something to love about La Plagne Non-skiers may choose from over 50 pubs and restaurants ranging from casual to fine dining After dark visitors can hit one of the resort\’s many night clubs for an evening of dancing and partying Numerous daytime activities entertain and engage those who choose not to ski as well Winter sport activities include ice skating, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing

La Grave is a commune in southeastern France and the location of La Meije Three summits comprise La Meije with the highest summit being 3,984 m Mountain climbers and rock climbers challenge themselves to reach the highest summit of La Meije The very first successful climb was by Emmanuel Boileau de Castelneu and Pierre Gaspard and his son on August 16, 1877 Glacier climbing or ice climbing is a very popular sport in La Grave as well One hundred to 300 metre climbing routes offer a variety of difficulty

Much of the La Grave la Meije ski area is glacier and considered dangerous Guided skiing is recommended Extreme skiers find a great deal of fascination and appeal in La Grave la Meije due to the enormous vertical drops and extreme ski conditions The largest vertical descent can be extended to 2,300 m when skiers go past the resort to the road

Located in Belleville Valley, Les Menuires resort hosted the 1992 Winter Olympics It is part of the largest ski area in the world, Les Trois Valleys The Three Valleys are comprised of several resorts that host millions of skiers per year Les Menuires has 62 ski trails, advanced and beginner slopes and 39 lifts The resort has 48 restaurants offering fare ranging from fast food to fine cuisine, something for everyone
www.yourandorra.com is a resource that has information for ski holidays not only in Andorra in the Pyrenees, but also for France, Switzerland and Austria.

For North America they include a section for Canada ski holidays.

Author : Margaret JamesWhen you\’re committed to investing time in your family, your business and a little leisure time, sometimes you have to look for a miracle Any busy person understands that it\’s literally impossible to make time for school plays and activities with the kids, long distance business meetings, and the infrequent but much-needed vacation

A few months ago, I dealt with a crisis I had an event two states over that an important planner dropped out of last-second There was absolutely no one else who could cover, and I only had a few days to take the reins and make sure everything was ready at my function Unfortunately, my family was having our first reunion in 20 years on the same day

I had the money to spend on a charter flight, but I couldn\’t find a charter plane company that would accommodate my needs at the last minute Even a small charter plane wasn\’t available through my traditional resources I kept looking, and was amazed to find a charter plane service called Kavoo

Kavoo is more of an "air taxi" than a traditional charter plane service With Kavoo, I was able to take a charter plane into New York City, and return home on a Boston charter flight The convenience and style of my planes were unbelievable I felt I was living the ultimate luxury lifestyle

Charter plane rates are often through the roof, and a charter plane rental isn\’t for everyone But if you\’re anything like me, and you just need to get there - Kavoo can make it happen for you By taking on a charter plane hire, I was able to get my business straightened out and keep my important obligations to family at the same time When you\’re able to have your cake and eat it too, traveling first class the whole way, it\’s totally worth the charter plane price

Boston charter plane flights are a dime a dozen these days, but Kavoo is a cut above the rest They have access to several smaller airports that you just can\’t get to with a traditional flight, which opens up the travel possibilities beyond what you can imagine If you are a busy executive like me, Kavoo can be a lifesaver

If you need charter plane services to/from New York, Kavoo can be a lifesaver for you, too! Now, I swear by the service - I\’m so glad to have found a flexible charter plane rental that meets my needs

Kavoo helps me fly in style, no matter where I\’m going You can get to several luxury travel destinations in the US easily If you\’re looking to get to several destinations fast, Kavoo is the best way possible - and you\’ll fly with efficient and friendly service you\’d never get on a regular commercial airline Flykavoo.com can help you get to several destinations in the US - quickly and in luxury!

<a href=\'http://www.articlesinsight.com/Art/93770/272/Kavoo-Made-It-Happen-For-Me.html\' rel=\'nofollow\' target=\'_blank\'>Read full story

Author : Greg Bilston"Learn How To Speak Russian Quickly and Easily, Ready For Your Journey to Eastern Europe"

Ready for a Free Russian Language Lesson?
Here is Lesson 1:

So you decided to learn to speak Russian Are you crazy? Do you know what’s involved?

Well if you are a little crazy, you don’t mind a challenge, you love to learn and you have a passion for life, then you have come to the right place

I cannot stress the following enough:
You need a REAL reason to want to learn Russian If you don’t, when you come up against challenges, your will to learn the Russian language will die So ask yourself why you want to learn Russian now

Is it to impress a girl? Will you be doing business there? Are you travelling and don’t want to one of the countless tourists who get ripped off in a foreign country?

Now that you know your reason, what reward will you give yourself as you progress? This is important because it allows you to see your progress and monuments along the way
Let’s begin to learn the Russian language

Firstly, when speak Russian, know who you are talking to, because this dictates how to speak Russian Let me show you the rules of the Russian language:

When speaking to a stranger, acquaintance, higher authority or a person you respect, when saying "You" in Russian, you say "Vhi" It is pronounced ‘V-W-E’ The ‘E’ in ‘V-W-E’ is pronounced as in the word "Fed" or ‘Bed" This is the closest sound tho "Vhi" comes in the English language In Russia, there is a sound not familiar with the English alphabet But for now, say ‘V-W-E’ in its formal tense

Next, when speaking to a Russian friend, lover or close family, you say "you" by saying "thi" This is pronounced ‘T-E’ as in ‘TED’, but without the ‘D’

Based on the formal and informal conversation, most words of the same will change The following free online Russian language lesson shows you the simple phrase ‘You Want" After seeing this, you’ll start to see the fun challenges that lay ahead

"YOU WANT"
Formal - Vhi Haitetye (Pronounced Hi (As in hello) - Tee-Tye (ye as in yet)
Informal - thi Hochesh (Pronounced Ho (as in Row)-chesh)

Here is "You Speak" in Russian
Formal - Vhi Guvaditye (Pronounced Guv-ah-di (immediate)-tye (As in yet)
Informal - Thi Guvadeesh

This is bare basic stuff But all words follow this rule, whether it is "you hear, you see, you walk" or any other phrase

Now, let’s see how these words change when saying "We Want" and "We Speak":
"We Want"

Mhi Haityim (Pronounced M-we (as in bed)

All Russian phrases have this rule
Next, let’s take a look at words for past tense in the Russian language

Past tense words change based on whether the speaker is male or female Let’s look at the example below:

This is "I Wanted" in Russlan:
Male - Ya Haitil
Female - Ya Haitila,

Now here is "I Spoke" for male and female:
Male - Ya Guvadil
Female - Ya Guvadila

Here is ‘We Wanted":
Mhi Haitilee

Here is "We Spoke" in Russian
Mhi Guvandilee

Now, learn the Russian Alphabet I highly recommend listening to the audio provided on the web site link below You will be taught correctly, how to memorize the Russian alphabet

This concludes Lesson 1 of your free online Russian language course
